I want surprise my mother in-law with a new car for Christmas. How far in advance should I book my car transport? I'm transporting the car from Philadelphia, PA to San Diego, CA.

No offense to the ladies – never hire a woman to ship your car.  Why? Because they won’t.  I desperately needed to ship my car from my office to my home in Newark, NJ.  I explained to the car shipping company – in advance – that I had brake problems.  When the truck driver tested the brakes before driving it onto the ramp of the truck, she refused to load and ship my car.  Her excuse was,”You have no brakes. Sorry sir, according to our company policy, we can not load a vehicle that doesn’t roll, steer, or brake.”  In response, I said, "You have no brains. Ship my car or else."

I called other car shipping companies close to my job and explained the situation and they told me I had to get my brakes fixed first. Hog Wash! Do you have any advice? I really need to get my car shipped.
