What type of container is used for international vehicle shipping?  I don’t have a clue.

That would be an ocean container.  With this option, you can have your vehicle delivered to our home by the shipping company.  You can load the car yourself.  You will also be able to ship personal items along with your international shipment.  If you have never done something like this on your own, this task can be a challenge. It is recommended that you let the auto transporters take on that task for you.  They will bring your car to the auto transporter’s warehouse.

Also, in the event that your car is damaged, you will not be able to collect loss damage insurance unless a professional auto shipper has packed your car.  An ocean container will sit on a chassis four feet above the ground.  Your car must be secured, blocked, and locked inside the container. Lastly, when your car is loaded onto the container at the U.S. port, it will be placed onboard the ship.
