What should I expect regarding clearance charges once the car gets to its destination?

Unfortunately, there’s no easy answer for this. A lot depends on the country you’re shipping the car to. Each one has its own regulations and port charges. Clearance charges (what you need to pay to officially “receive” the shipment, also vary from place to place. To make it even more complicated, some countries will charge you taxes at the port, while others will have you pay taxes later on, when you register the vehicle. Your best bet is to find out in advance what the charges are by contacting local authorities.
