If you are a government employee who’s in the military, civilian personnel or even a teacher, you can usually ship one vehicle within a twenty-ton weight but not more. And if you have a compact car, it would be about nine tons.  A full-sized vehicle would be a weight of fifteen tons.

Remember, the port officials, custom officers and government employees are there to find the errors—it’s their job. They know that the auto shipping companies usually make mistakes. It’s your responsibility to check with them to see if you are doing the right thing.

They know the rules like the back of their hands.   So, you will have to rely on them for help.  They can either make the experience pleasant or a complete nightmare for you. Remember; be friendly and cooperative with whomever you come in contact with so that you can have a good experience.
