I have a camper that I want shipped but I've been told is not officially a “car” for shipping purposes.

This may very well depend on the company you're using. As a general rule, anything more than 7 feet tall is not considered a standard car and is subject to extra fees or special considerations. Certain car modifications (such as the addition of a camper shell) can also take your car outside of the “standard” category.
