I’ve heard about small, local companies allowing customers to get a hold of the driver, especially in cases of single car trailers. In general, though, this doesn’t seem to be a very practical idea. Instead, get all the information you need and want from the central office and then contact the shipper to make sure your car was delivered as promised.

Why do you feel that you need to contact the driver directly? As a general rule I am a strong believer that the driver NOT the office or broker should contact you prior to delivery of your vehicle so as to elminate a communication issue about the delivery. I can assure you that a company of any size that has high standards of customer service will put their driver in contact with you.
