I am shipping my prized 1968 Ford Mustang—fully equipped. Should I get extra insurance on my own to protect my car?

I recommend that you use an enclosed carrier.  Depending on your budget – this is a little expensive, but it will help you save your car from any damages. Get insurance in case anything happens to your car. Many shipping companies offer additional insurance. More importantly, make sure that the auto transport company has insurance of their own when shipping your car.

As far as pricing, you can compare the cost of different vehicle transport companies and see what additional features are offered for the cost that you would be paying. Don’t forget to ask for a detailed and written inspection before and after the delivery of your car.
