A company is quoting me something like “anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks.” What affects delivery time that much?

Lots of things can affect the delivery, including bad weather, highway accidents (even if the delivery truck is not involved, it can can still delay traffic for hours at a time), road construction and whether that means having to take alternate (and longer) routes, car owners that are not home and delay the delivery (remember that your car shares the truck with many others and may not be the first one to be delivered).
