I finally received 2 quotes for delivery of my car. One car shipping company told me that I should wash my car before pick up. The second company told me that I should not. Which is it? I'm totally confused right now.

Some companies advise that you wash your car before pick up because it is easier to inspect during pick up. On the contrast, some companies suggest that you do not wash your car because the dirt that is already built up is like a protective shield against dirt and debri during transit.  I suggest that you take the advice of the company that you select. So, if the company that you choose suggests that you wash the car before pick up, you should wash it.

Wash your car so you and the company transporting it will be able to do a good inspection to insure you agree on the little scratches and dents. I will tell you when the car is delivered it may be very dirty depending on the weather during transport as well as placement of your car on the truck. A dirty car is very hard to properly inspect so sign your Bill of Lading STI (subject to inspection) and wash your car within 24 hours of  delivery. You will be able to do a better inspection. You would not believe the amount of damage dirt on a car can hide. Also a good Idea to take pictures of all sides including roof trunk and hood before shipping.

Good Luck
